Ok, so for those of you who have been following the photo a day of Amorie (on flickr), you have noticed that I haven't posted in a little while.  It's because I put a photo of Amorie on a little while ago with her standing on the coffee table in her diaper.  It got almost 300 hits.  I normally get 20-30 hits.  Once I realized that that photo was so active, I was completely disgusted and stopped posting.  I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet.  Probably just make my posts private.  If anyone is interested in getting an invite for that, let me know.  I'm still pretty appalled .  We'll see.

Smith Family photos.

For your viewing pleasure, I posted our family photos on flickr. Martine, let me know which ones you want. I haven't done any processing to them so I can play with the colors a bit and what not. I was also going to crop them. Hope everyone enjoys.

Thanksgiving dinner.

1-Delicious turkey which I had nothing to do with (On the cooking side. I did much on the eating side.) except provide moral support, which can be very difficult. I guess you could say I did all the hard work.
2-Mouthwatering, savory stuffing with celery chopped by you know who. I know what your thinking. "Even from this distance, those celery look like they have been chopped by an angel. Oh that my celery were chopped that perfectly."
3-My cool new gravy boat. Erin and I both got gravy boats for the dinner. Mine is the cool one. Her's is the less cool one.
4-My pesky daughter trying to steal a spoon from the table.
5-Lip smacking hand-mashed potatoes. Need I say more?

Happy Thanksgiving.

Ok, so I haven't posted in a while. I've been pretty busy. This week I promise. If you want to know what is going on with Amorie, check my flickr account. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/chickysmith) I try to leave comments about her. Farr and I are pretty are the same old same old.

Yesterday we went to Kohls so Farr could get some clothes for his new job and I saw these shoes that I loved. Now for those of you who have seen me walk lately, I know what your thinking. "Don't do it Autumn. You have so much to live for." I mean, look at the size of that heal! But I love them. Plus they were only 15 dollars when they were 50. I had to get them. I think most women will agree. It needed to be done.

A little update.

So I realized that I have been very pathetic at updating the blog because I've been concentrating on the flickr blog/thingy. So things here are going well. Farr was given a tentative offer for a job at the University of Phoenix as a Marketing Account Manager. We are just waiting for the background check to clear. Hopefully he didn't do anything to wild at BYU. You never know. I kinda like having him around. Amorie is awesome. We dig her. She has learned how to open and close doors. I just learned how to do that. She's a genius. I am working on starting my photography business. I am booked up for November. Scary. I've been putting a lot of my practice photos of Amorie online at my flickr account if anyone wants to take a look. The link is to the right. That's pretty much it. We're dull.

Erin tagged me with this one...
Six weird and random things about me:
The rules are:
* Post the rules on your blog
* Write six random things/unspectacular quirks about yourself
* Tag six people at the end of your post and link to them
* Let each person you have tagged know by leaving a comment on their blog
* Let the tagger know when your entry is posted

Okay - so Six wierd and random things about me...

1. I have an unnatural obsession with Gilmore Girls.
2. I crave peanut m&ms but I am deathly allergic.
3. I hate showering. So boring.
4. My food groups consist of sweet and salty.
5. I own 30 or so pair of shoes, but I generally only wear 3. (Saucony running shoes, Keen sandals, and 2 dollar sandals I stole from my mom)
6. I doubt I know 6 people to send this on too.

I tag:
Hillary, Karalenn, Michelle, Cat, Victoria, and Luwanda. (That's right, Luwanda. You know who you are.)

So lately we have been hearing Amorie bouncing in her crib when she is supposed to be sleeping. We think it's funny so Farr went to film her today so that you could see it too.

Mini me. And mini Farr.

Amorie has started copying us. This morning she grabbed the headset (microphone for xbox) and put it on. Then she took the xbox controller and turned it on. Farr took a few photos of her because he thought it was funny. I swear she doesn't wear that shirt everyday. Just the days that Farr dresses her. (She's wearing that shirt in the boyfriend pic.)

So Farr had the endoscopy done today. We think it went well. They said that he has chronic acid reflux disease and that there was a bulge on his esophagus that was making the food get stuck. They fixed it hopefully, but he has to take prilosec twice a day for the rest of eternity. Well that's the big news today.

I set up an account on flickr.com for my pictures. Feel free to come and take a look. I put a link to it on the side under Flickr photos.

Amorie's new boyfriend

We went over to some friends house today to watch the B.Y.U. game and Amorie and Remington snuck over by the door and...
well nothing. Amorie pretty much beat up on him the whole game. He was really sweet and followed her around so I had to take a picture of it.

Photo a day.

While I was in Phoenix, Erin was helping me with my portfolio for setting up a photography company. She showed me this website where a photographer was taking a picture everyday, messing around with it in photoshop, and posting it daily. I don't know if I will be able to do it everyday, but I'm going to try. Since Amorie is usually my main subject, I thought you might like to see it. I put a link to it on the side. Hope you enjoy.

Some old town photos.

I think the last photo might be my favorite picture ever.

Just messing around

I made Amorie and Farr go to the park today so I could take some pictures and do some practicing in photoshop. I'm just messing around with them, but we haven't posted in a long while and the video camera is having difficulties linking up so I decided to post these until Farr can get it fixed.

Meet Suki!

I finally got me my dog!! Her name is Suki and she is a rescue dog that was pretty beat up. She is really sweet and provides Amorie with endless exercise. Amorie chases, Suki hides.

Amorie's room

We finally finished Amorie's room. It took awhile because I started it with my sister-in-law, but what with the kids and the chaos there wasn't much concentration. I had to take all the tape off and start over. This was kinda what I was going for:
http://www.jackandjillinteriors.com/popups/princess_nursery.htm

The rest of the room is a light lavender and eventually there will be window coverings. For now, I am putting up cardboard during nap time.

I'll put more pictures on as I finish the rooms.

Work - Mr. Rooter

We delivered a campaign to Mr. Rooter plumbing last month. We had developed a new identity and strategy for them playing on the fact that they are called misters. These here are a part of the print campaign I wrote.

No more moving

Last Friday we closed on our house and have been moving in since then.
This will be our residence for a good long while.
Thank goodness.
Actually, we're pretty dang stoked about the house and hope not to move for a good long while.

We've been painting, unpacking and removing concrete.
There was a sidewalk that had cut through the side of the backyard and ended into a block wall.
As the house was a model, it used to be connected by a sidewalk to the other models.
Then when it went up for sale they put up a wall.
It looked like you could paint a black doorway on the wall where the sidewalk led and the roadrunner (which are common here, by the way) would run right through it followed by the coyote slamming into the wall.
So Jared and Farr rented a jackhammer, tore it up and then loaded all of the chunks of concrete into the moving truck.
The mud flaps behind the rear wheels dragged on the ground all the way to our dumping destination.

Some daddy daughter time.

Lately Amorie has been opening her mouth really wide and kinda chasing us down with it. It was weird, but I realized that she is trying to play with us. Today she opened her mouth and put her face into my stomach and then looked at my face like "Why aren't you laughing." She also grabs our hands whenever they are in her reach so that she can stand up. She feels very grown up.

Always on the move.

She has started pulling herself up. She wants to walk so much, but I'm hoping that she hold off for awhile. Really I wish she would go back to being happy just sitting.

Totally worn out

She can get herself up into a sitting position now and she was playing when she was supposed to be down for the night. I'm pretty sure that she just passed out cold from exhaustion.

Everyday photos

I just started giving her a snack during the day. I have to get her naked because she slobbers all over everything so it's the best solution.

She's a bit of a fido.

That's right. Farr is reading to her from Communication Arts. It's a advertising book. He's good with night time stories.

Crawling note

Amorie's new found freedom has brought her immense happiness. As she peers over the living room landscape, her face lights up when she spots something she wants. And a grin appears as she tracks her prey and snags it.

Yep, the whining has diminished since she began to crawl. She doesn't have to ask for things anymore. She can go get it herself. Except real food. There's the occasional piece of paper on the floor though to munch on. Interestingly, she doesn't go after her toys. She seeks out everything else.

The object she most desires is forbidden fruit, the TV remote. We enjoy placing it well out of her reach and letting her crawl all the way to it, then we move it back where she just came from. We let her go back and forth for a while. She plays right along. These are the games you devise when you have no life beyond hers. Good times.

Her first crawl!

I filmed her all day trying to get the first crawl and I got it! Once she did it, she gave up and pretty much said: "Ok, that's enough."

The rage.

Hello

So, we despised the Vox blog we had running. It just wasn't working out. This should work better. Posts will be forthcoming.
